Just something different. I think this illistrates the emotional atmosphere of the rave scene. Exploring the 'self' while within a compound community. What's your thoughts on this?

That's a nice shot esp if it's at a rave. What's the colour version look like? Maybe try a bit of mix and match of both.

Very atmospheric shot. I'm wondering if it would look better in colour? I would be interested to hear why you turned it into a B&W image.

The original version is not as exciting as you anticipated.

B&W and this is an excellent insight into Dante’s Inferno

Interesting abstract.
There's something missing for me. Perhaps a little more contrast or a little more definition to the girl on the right would help give more meaning to the substantial motion blur.

i agree with the post above me
then the photo would still look like art but also tell a story
the B/W shot seems to glamarise the rave scene for some reason
maybe because the photo has that art look
the original version does push it to reality though
great use of blur

love the sense of movement. But don't people at dance parties smile a lot more than the pic suggests? The pic gives a wonderful feeling of loss or uncertainty from that girl's face - was that what was actually happening on the dance floor?
It's one of the fascinating things about taking pictures that what the outside looks like may not be what it feels like on the inside.
good pic...

We should all head out to Modesto and take an equivalent shot of a Modesto Rave, aka Line Dancing. The vacant look of morbid boredom on the faces of the particpants would tell a very different story.

I like both versions, Nexxus. Very effective and, as said, atmospheric.

Gary,
I have no doubt that some of the people in the shot would have had a line or two....

The girl left of centre reminds me of ”The Scream” and as such adds the inferno connotation
