More Melbourne Zoo pics

At the risk of being boring, here are 3 pics I took at the Melbourne Zoo this week. They were all taken with a Tamron 200-400 f5.6. This lens is heavy, weighs about 1.2 Kgs, so some form of support is a must.
Nicole or Kipper, what kind of bird is it in the first pic? And what bird guide book would you recommend?

Regards
Meicw

Hi Meicw...new lens hey? The third one looks nice asnd sharp. Probably needs a touch more room on top. My fav is the lion shot though. I actually quite like the crop. Something different. :)

The bird is a White faced Heron. As for the bird guide book, I have the Simpson & Day "Field Guide to the Birds of Australia". There are a few different guide books around but I'm quite happy with that.

Thanks for all your kind replies. None of the pics is cropped. (I know that sentence sounds incorrect, but the word 'none' is singular (negative of 'one' ) and so should take a singular form of the verb.)
Nicole. I was leaning to that book. Thanks for the reply.
