I've recropped it a little to reduce the blurred grass at the bottom. Don't want to go much further othwise it will chop is feet off.
I was lying down on the grass to take the shot.

I don't think the blurred grass is too much of a problem myself, but you could clone it out with the clone tool or the healing brush if you wanted to eliminate it.

Interesting post. Whites are a bit hot though. Reduction of ambient light (underexposing) and using a bit of fill flash might of helped.
I'm still trying to get a great shot of a Pelican. I almost got a nice shot of one in flight but the most sharpest and exposed correctly was when it was going away from me. I think my favorite Pelican shot on this forum has been Xerebus (sp?) who had one on a peir on a pole with a full moon above it
