This is one of my niece, about a year old. 1/15s @ f/6.3, 200mm, flash bounced from ceiling, ISO unrecorded. I noticed she kept peeking over the childproof barrier, so I set up the tripod and waited. Admittedly the stuff in the background is a distraction.

The stuff in the background gives the image depth and location.......very good pix

you could lift the contrast of the image a little bit, by using levels or curves......
