havent posted anything for a while. the crummy weather has kept me by the fire but I have been trying to get some bird shots. No raptors though, just crummy ones. Promise I wont post any ducks though, even though I took a few of those.
The first ones are all in my back yard.
All rainbow lorikeets. These are all hand held using 80-400vr except that there wasnt much light for all these so they were filled with my old metz 60, except for the close up in frame 3 which was using the 18-70 kit lens with built in speedlight. number 1 is with the sun behind the bird. I kinda liked the glow coming from behind him.

I like the 3rd a lot, however the blown areas in the background are kind of off putting. Maybe try taking two pictures, one with adjusted EV for the background one with EV for the bird and merging the two.

The other option is to try that technique that was in a video link that somebody posted. It was some guy speaking funny about things being evil.
It was a tutorial on how to use the healing tool or color replacement to correct clouds.

Yeah if somebody can post a link to the thread, it would be appreciated. I did a quick check in Tips and also in Tutorials, but no luck.
