FOR MEN ONLY!

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

You're lucky it's only a threat! Part of the cost of my D70 purchase was a comparably priced diamond ring... Oh well, I guess I've managed a lens or two since then without too much collateral damage

I would rather put the money towards a second digital camera body or at least a deposit on a D2x.
Just think if we did not have carpets in Australia, you would not need one of these. Tiles and a mop and bucket would do.

If by "Men Only", you mean men only should read it not to give ideas to wives, well... maybe. But I think it's a bit of a dodgy subject. Showing a sucker as an example can lead to so many interpretations...I do not want to get too explicit to stay within the PG rating.

Matt, dont even THINK about mentioning lawnmowers!! Whenever I have to use one, I spend the whole time cursing the damned englishman who invented the damned things!!

As for the Dysons, not only do they look great, but they work very well too... Even a Malamute in full blow doesnt slow our Dyson down!!

Oh, by the way. A tip for those who want to curtail the other half wanting one of these, just mention to her that the see-thru catch tank will let her see just HOW dirty her carpet really is!!

Always happy to oblige, Peter. :)

And why use soap, when there's a nice brand new vacuum cleaner in the beginning of this thread waiting to clean that head out for you!

But wait! That's not all! Call now and you'll find out how it can do more than just clean out your head...

Dyson are a great company. The long barrell on our Dyson vac was mysteriously snapped in two by unknown suspects (3 kids swear they were not in the country when it happened...mind you they were only 8 and 10 at the time)

I rang up the Dyson customer care line at about 6.30 pm on a Friday night and the lady was incredibly helpful. She sent a replacement part which I received the following Monday or Tuesday...No charge...no judicial inquiry...no blame... just great customer service. They are not paying me for this commercial. Wouldn't it be great if camera reparit companies were as responsive.

Go Dyson! PS they are not a bad vacuum cleaner either.

Just getting on to the actual photograph ( something that seems to have been completely missed by all the lads attracted to the FOR MEN ONLY topic heading), I have to say that is a nice sharp photograph Matt.

However on looking at the photograph right hand side, there seems to be some reflections and I'm wondering if this is lens reflection or whether you took the photograph looking through a window or something?

Cheers

Very observant. It was a snapshot through a shop window. It was, though, glowing in soft light, which is why I photographed it.
