Taking photos in the snow and using raw format.
Probable could do with some borders around the pics.
Cheers,

Ray,
The especially good is that you're not getting the typical blue cast that one often sees in pictures from the snow. That means that you've nailed the wb.
The not-so-good is that theycould probably do with a tad less exposure. You've got some blown highlights, particularly in the first, but in the third, for instance, I suspect overexposure as the child's face is probably a tad lighter than it really should be. If you shot in raw, try pulling EV back about 0.7 and see how they look.
But nailing the wb in this sort of situation is not to be sneezed at; you've done well.

Ray,
Your shots make me want to hop into the car and heading to the Snowy Mountain at this moment.
Like the action and your pics.
Sorry, the description of the subject of this thread make me thinking you were "Virgin"

Thanks Gary, I realise I've probably overexposed some of the pics.
Unfortunately, I'm hampered by the fact that I use a laptop and the screen isn't the best thing to use when viewing photos.
I've actually gone back a couple of times to try to get the exposure right but I reckon the screen is distorting things a little.
Maybe it's time to get a new laptop??? One with the you-beaut screens maybe?
Cheers,
Ray

Hi Ray,
Really like the shots and plan to get to the snow soon! Just wondering what WB setting you used to get the snow just right.
Cheers, Jase.

I like the third shot of the little girl in red, enjoying the snow. Well done.

Hey Jase,
From memory, I think I just had the WB set for a cloudy day and changed the exposure level depending on the contrast.
There was however, a bit of fiddling in Rawshooter essentials though to bring out some of the shots.

Ray,
That may well help, but simply getting your monitor calibrated will help too.

Good shots Ray, the third is the best of the bunch... i've never shot in the snow before but from what ive seen posted here previously proves its quite a challenge, and I see you have done well.
