Live in Sydney with no sewerage treatment plant (us Sydneysiders dump it straight in the ocean so we can swim in it) so went to the nearest place to take pics of birds, the city.
Bird in dressing gown
(she is a blonde telling herself "must remember to dress in the morning"
Happy Bird
Tired Bird
Overloaded Bird
Apologies to those who expected a feathered variety, here is a garbage bin bird

I like the 2nd shot best. Fantastic candid. I love candids. Was she aware of being photographed?
regards,
Arthur

The priceline one does it for me, excellent - except for the chopped feet

Wow Glen, you must have something really spectacular up your sleeve for the Decisive Moment competition... Any one of the first 3 would have been very very good contenders...
Please give us a little bit more background on the first 3 shots...

Thanks Arthur, Leek and Philip. No one knew they were being photographed, the first was a promo girl taken with Arthurs previous favourite the 300/4 + 1.7TC. Second is just a very happy girl wandering along Pitt St mall, I am envious of her disposition. Third taken at 500mm in Martin Place. Fourth was a woman who popped up about 3 metres in front of me when I had the 70-200 on at 200, and as I do not change focal length when shooting as it gives the game away I am shooting them, had to take it at 200mm. Same thing happened with a specimen which could only be described as the large titted bird, only could get one in the viewfinder so missed that shot also. Luck of the draw.

I keep going back to that first shot. It has everything - out of context attire, the subject really jumps out at you because of the white robe, and even the people in the background are interesting (the person top left sorta looks like they're praying)
Wow

Glen,
The "priceline" bird takes the prize...the handbag around the neck, the look on her eyes...the daily grind....well caught

Glen, I love the first shot, by all means they're all excellent candids but the first creates so much wonder.. there's this attractive young female in the middle of the city dressed in a white nightgown and everyone is pretty much oblivious to her... excellent capture... just dont tell anyone that she was a promo girl and you'll have them all guessing about why she's there... and i cant help but feel sorry for the priceline lady.
...and when i opened this thread i was so expecting to see another white-tailed green-headed spotted Anas platyrhynchos platyrhynchos a.k.a. A Duck

Glen,
I like the second, real impression!
Perhaps her man has just given her a diamond ring
while he's walking into the nearby Teds camera or Camera House paid "his duty" for the D2x

Very nice series Glen - you must have had fun.
My favourite is the silver-frilled blackbird on the steps. I can't help but think what's happened to her that has her in such a contemplative mood...

Very nice serie Glen, the first shot had me wondering as well. That's the one I find stands out of them all for the same reasons as Stubbsy said.
Cheers,
Gerard

Glen, nice shots here, what do you reckon the blonde is holding in her left hand? Folded instructions on how to breath and walk? Reasons for wearing a dressing gown in Pitt St Mall?
