About 2pm last Saturday. Coke ovens BlueScope Steel Port Kembla. I saw the choka chain but not the dog.

Great subject and angle. There is a question that must be asked about that chain and how it got to be in that position, and that's what your photo is asking me.
However, i think it would look even better in B&W with a bit of grain. My personal preference for photos of this type is to give it the Ansell Adams treatment and make it into a statement of the filth of industry, rather than the curiosity of the chain.
But, it's a great image either way. nice work.

Thanks for your comments.
I do most of my stuff in B&W and am just enjoying a bit of colour. I recognise the mix of subjects eg the chain which I honestly didnt see until i 'developed' it.
I really like industry and would want to portray it as 'tough' but not something depressing.
I am sorry I am flying tonight between marking 40 papers, driving to the Gong for Vienna Boys Concert (my son is singing with them) and driving back to Sydney this evening at 11.30. I would like to discuss more.
Again I like your take on this and I will hopefully will give more of a direct message in my next industrial shot. This time of year is so brilliant for contrasty shots.
Thanks
