Someone at least made good use of this dead tree. This is in the botanic garden at Mount Annan (Campbelltown)

Needs an old guy sitting at the base of the tree, playing a dobro guitar.

Better reflection with a National being played by the tin man.

Chris,
This is the real thing! In the general discussion section I posted a crop showing a severe case of fringing, I do not know whether the lens is at fault.
Cheers,
Gerard

I saw your other post Gerard and my thought is that it could be CA or an interaction at the photosites between the blue and the background. Sometimes you can get an apparent CA when there is a marked contrast differential too.
My first reaction was
PS due to the base of the tree being so straight

This would look superb against a stormy sky - you might even get a reply from Mic under those conditions

I should be able to drive again next week and I'll take more shots if we have clouds. I'll be using my 12-24 Sigma instead of the 35mm.
I know there is a strong contrast, but the fringe is really big even in NEF. I'll try with the 70-200 see what comes out.
Cheers,
Gerard

Gerard,
If you have clouds, be sure to add a CP to the mix.

Gerard,
Is your DL suspended by the Boy in Blues cos you have too much Cognac brought back from your trip?
Hope you get well soon!
