Was just having a play with the different metering modes/exposure settings when I managed to capture this. My wife looking out the window around 1pm with just the sun lighting up her face.

Taken with the D70 + 50mm f/1.4, 1/1250sec - f/2.8, Aperature priority, Expsoure comp -.3, ISO 200, Spot metering.

Opinions welcome.

looks good, but i would prefer that the chin was a bit sharper, you had pently of light to work with maybe f/5.6 or f/8 or even more?

I like this portrait a lot. The look on her face is very determined.

A beautiful engaging portrait, very stylish
the black gives it a mysterious feel.

excellent!

Hi,

I liked the head shot and I would not worry too much about the DOF with the chin. It can help re-focus your attention back on the subjects face and help soften the skin tones. In this shot is works.

This has just the most beautiful light. DOF is not an issue for me I think this is well executed as is. Minor nitpick I guess, but I'd like to have had a little less black on the left to draw me more strongly to the profile. Exceptionally well done.
