A touch of England (Glenmore)

Well when I was out search for the mother of all birds, the Wedge Tail Eagle I decided to go to Glenmore which is where Embi sugested. My was I suprised at how much it reminded me of being in the UK, kind of like the Peak District but not as green. I think the area could do with a good dump of rain to turn all the grass green. Still quite dry out that region.

Anyway the shot was taken handheld and was cromprised of a total of about 18 shots but I only used 14 here as the right 4 were just of a tree. Who needs a Gitzo, Markins M-20 head and RSS Sliding Rails :)

Btw, later on I'll do another version merging with two exposures one for the clouds and one for the ground. I measured the exposure for the middle hills and set it all up using matrix metering but I guess the camera got slightly fooled. Either that or the sun was more covered when I metered.

Hi Darryl: for this type of shot, try a gradual ND to eccentuate the sky better. Otherwise the shot lacks theme focus given the blown out clouds.

On second thought, I reckon a IR filter will produce very interesting results.

Yep already know this but I don't have a Cokin filter system. Nor am I willing to spend out the money on one at this stage :0

I'll just put it through Photomatix Pro.
