Some Panoramas I took in Byron Bay last week.
Unfortuantely the weather was poor for most of it, and I left half my shots on my Mums laptop, so I have to grab them on the weekend.

Nice work here Nick, would like to see the 3rd one a bit larger - up the saturation and levels a bit (maybe?) and you have some great shots. Incidentlly, drove past Byron yesterday arvo and took a few shots from the big lookout next to the Pac Hwy.

ozi, click on each photo for a larger size. These panos all come in at 2048 pixels wide when clicked on.

Thanks for the suggestion, will have a fiddle later.

Crops of Panos, as the dark space might have dominated a bit too much?

I love that first image! It reeks of quality...a sensual beachscape. Now I want to see it printed. Fine work.

Pippin, some great colors in those sunsets. Either that or use JPEG (highest quality) bracketted for the highest variation stops (+/- 2 or 3) and select some midpoint, so you get the details in the landscape, the clouds and the colors of the setting sun. Either that or get yourself a Cokin Filter system with a neutral grad filter.

I've done quite a few shots that have turned out exactly like yours and have regreted not doing JPEG bracketted or having a Cokin Filter system. The reason why I said JPEG bracketted and not RAW is because with JPEG it will save out 3 images (if you have 3 +/- 2stops) at once. Unlike RAW where you have to press the shutter multiple times for it to produce 3 different exposed photos. Then again, you might already know this but for those who don't.

Matt:
Were you refering to this image?
Image

It was the first shot I got as a I hopped out of the car, and unfortunately caught the top of a white van. Some photoshop work could probably get rid of it.

Thanks for the tips Kipper, I'm going to have to learn to play with exposure compensation and so on a bit more, I've not really advanced my understanding and handling of the camera in a while.

Some great pictures there! I like the 3rd last one the best, reminds me of Independence day, supernatural in a sense.

Can you tell us how you took that picture with the consistency in the clouds (some panoramas had clouds that were very different in colouring).

I don't think the weather looked that bad compared to the pictures I took at my beach. I couldn't get the sun to smile at me

Different colous due probably to: WB, sat and time. The first two panos (the bluer ones) were taken after the next 3 (The ones with more yellow).

Yeah I should have said #3 (not 3rd last one). What was I thinking.
