Hi there,
As I explained in my "Hi I'm new" post, I am yet to purchase the elusive DSLR (budgetary contstraints  )
But someone suggested that I should post the odd pic anyway, keep myself busy while I'm dreaming - ha!
So, here are a couple of pics I took with my point and shoot up at Beachmere on the weekend. All comments/criticisms very much welcome & appreciated.

Hi kinetic - nice shots. I like the lower angle in the second, which gives you more background/context and also makes the water reflect the lovely blue sky... it was very nice of the pelican to do the "Logies Red Carpet" model pose, too!!

G'day K,
Don't worry about the $, that's what plastic is for, least that's what I keep telling myself

These guys are always tricky to photograph because of the extreme highlights and shadows so you've done well :) And love the pose on that second dude... Very becoming...

Cheers.

never forget, the number 1 accessoy to a dslr is a p&s. he thing is, at least your shooting. On that note, the 2nd shot is great, good composition, bright, love the reflectio. Keep it up!

HI K. Great shots. As Mudder has said pelicans are hard to photograph because of the contrast of their feathers (black & white).
I love the pose in the second shot.

Thanks for the comments :D
I think I was just lucky with that second pose - the pelican looked at me imperiously and then stalked off across the sand ... he/she would make an excellent model I'm sure.
