Below are some shots I took at Eastern Creek last Sunday. All were taken with a 70-300ED lens and PPed in
PS Elements 3. No 1 is my favorite.

Number 3 from the other side would've been an absolute scorcher of a shot! But such is life.
How do you find out about when these track days are?
Also, how much was just viewing entry for the day at The Creek?
I'm thinking of riding up to the next Broadford meet and seeing what i can shoot - pending a new 70-300 of course.

NIce shots #1 especially. My mate from Sydney rang me this afternoon and invited to the next Honda club meet at EC on 20/8. Hopefully I may be able to get down for it but not sure.

Eastern Creek publish all their events on their website
http://www.eastern-creek-raceway.com.au.
Depending on the event some days they charge an entry fee around $20, other days they let you in for free.
The good part about some of the low profile events is that you have the run of the track. You can drive around to any position you want.

Hey BBJ,
I am finding that the 70-300ED is a little soft at the 300 end making it hard to get sharp shots.
After visting the last mini meet at birdy's I am thinking about getting the 80-400VR. I am expect this to give me a greater range of sharper shots.
What did you find when you got yours.

Hey redline. The last shot was cropped a small amount. The corner where I took the shot was quite close to the fence. Some times a big lens is not always necessary.

Barry like i have said in other post this lens is not the fastest in focussing but, i dont havenot had many probs with it just pan with your shots and this lens for the money is excellent. sometimes it might have to wait for it to re focus but not often i would recomend this lens, just get to know it and u wont regret it.

These are terrific, sharp as... A track day with such a relaxed attitude towards hobby photog's would make a great day...
