Its quite hard to reduce these shots to 600 pixels. They loose a bit in the reduction.

beautiful images - the best time of day to photograph! You have captured the balance and beauty of the sunrise light wonderfully.
Inspiring me to get out of bed earlier.

G'day W,
Really like the soft light in shots 2 and 3, #3 is postcard material...

Very commendable shots - you have gone to great effort not only to get there at the right time but you have also made lovely pictures.
Without wishing to rain on your parade, however, I would ask if you are not perturbed by the curvature of the horizon? Each time I consder zoom lenses or retro-focus wide-angles it is this distortion that turns me back. I dare say that the situation could be remedied in post but I am of the old school who likes to get it right at the kick-off.

Very nice shots Willy wombat.
Yes, reducing the size suitable for posting does degrade the image but they are still good and would look wonderfull printed at a largish size and displayed.
Well done.

Awesome shots! Love the texture of the first one. And the way the first sun ray hit the top foam of a wave (pics #3) is really great... Worth to crop it panorama-style and print it big!

Sheet shooter - In answer to your question - Yes. I cant figure out how to fix it when the horizon curves both ways. I can correct it for one side but this accentuates the other side?
When i was shooting I should have increased the zoom to say 25mm (not 18mm) to avoid this issue. Still i am only learning.

No probs Sheetshooter. I nearly always do. I really enjoy the feedback from other photographers, as long as it is directed in a friendly or informative manner
.
BTW - post up some more of your work. I have enjoyed what i have seen to date - the slide stuff.
