Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Love affair with DOFHaving found myself in the perpetual cycle of working 7 days a week trying to save a whopping deposit for a house I am buying, I have found it difficult to find any time to take any pictures, let alone improve my photography in any way.
Hence I am offering up a few shots for everyone's critique in the hope that I might learn something: I have found that I have a serious love affair with DOF, I try desperatly to shoot other themes but with little success Any views on ways to improve? p.s. I am using a rather noddy hosting system which compresses the jpegs resulting in the appauling artifacts you can see. I promise you the originals are crisp!!
I enjoy playing around with DOF also. That second shot is a beauty.
Cheers

I do my best to try and shoot other things but to me they all come out ordinary. The only shots I seems to enjoy are the ones with a limited DOF.
Is it worth trying to crack other things or should I just carry on with a side of photography that I obviously love?
edneeves My other hobby /sport is sportfishing using lures and soft plastics sometimes it can take a full week of practice to master a new lure . Even now after 5 years I can still go out with a particular lure and catch my quota . The way that I see it is once you master something it gives great satisfaction and next time it comes naturally even when under pressure and you only get better . I would prefer to be master of few and comperdent with the rest. After time one by one you can master all the great thing is you have the rest of your life so their is no real hurry.
