Having found myself in the perpetual cycle of working 7 days a week trying to save a whopping deposit for a house I am buying, I have found it difficult to find any time to take any pictures, let alone improve my photography in any way.

Hence I am offering up a few shots for everyone's critique in the hope that I might learn something:

I have found that I have a serious love affair with DOF, I try desperatly to shoot other themes but with little success

Any views on ways to improve?

p.s. I am using a rather noddy hosting system which compresses the jpegs resulting in the appauling artifacts you can see. I promise you the originals are crisp!!

I enjoy playing around with DOF also. That second shot is a beauty.

I do my best to try and shoot other things but to me they all come out ordinary. The only shots I seems to enjoy are the ones with a limited DOF.

Is it worth trying to crack other things or should I just carry on with a side of photography that I obviously love?

edneeves My other hobby /sport is sportfishing using lures and soft plastics sometimes it can take a full week of practice to master a new lure . Even now after 5 years I can still go out with a particular lure and catch my quota . The way that I see it is once you master something it gives great satisfaction and next time it comes naturally even when under pressure and you only get better . I would prefer to be master of few and comperdent with the rest. After time one by one you can master all the great thing is you have the rest of your life so their is no real hurry.
