Finally, voting has finished and I can share my good news with everyone....it's been killing me !
On the 6th July, my wife gave birth to our beautiful Twins, Andrew & Jennifer. It has been hard trying to keep it a secret, however I didn't want to give away my 2nd entry into Challenge 5 ("and two become one" - which was Andrew)....yes, it was real !
Here are a couple of pics:
Jennifer:
Andrew:
This is a photo of Andrew in the humidicrib as he had a touch of Juandice the day following the birth. Whilst we were feeding him, with the UV lights off, I snapped this pic - which is a favourite of my Wife & I.
I'll try not to post too many pics of them, however since their birth the D70 has been working overtime, so I can't promise anything

Not having any children of my own I can only guess, but I figure this was a damn hard secret to keep.
Congrats to you and your partner and congrats to your for the first image in particular. As I've said elsewhere, I'm not a big fan of kid shots, but (as I've also said) some can be great and the first one of these in particular falls into the latter category. The image is sharp as a tack, the colours work fantasically well (the pink of the skin against the blue background) and there's a nice sens of scale with the adult hand in shot.
Well done.

Thanks for the pictures! I haven't seen a newborn for a long time.
Makes me want to start cracking
Oh and first picture was my fave, I could see how small your daughter is compared to the thumb next to her. Big eyes too.

Congratulations to Dave and Mrs Dave. Twins.....
They are wonderful images Dave, I really like the second one of Andrew. Sharp, great colours.....very nice. At least your daughter seems to like her baths....my first bath shot of Owen was mostly him screaming his head off.
take care

Congratulations, a lot ... !!!
Welcome to the new chapter of your life.
Take as many pictures as you can possibly take !
In 20 years time you will say: it was only yesterday that my son or daughter just fit onto my thighs, that's how small they were.
Back then they were bathing in a very small tub.
I'm positive ! It was yesterday !!!
Cheers,
CD

Well done Dave
Beaut children and nice pix
I concur with the idea of taking lots of photos - I had 2 film cameras at the birth of my daughter and got some nice B&W images.
My daughter (Jillian, now 18 months) only has to see my D70 and she clamps her eyes shut
- she has a good sense of humor.
Enjoy the little ones - get as much sleep as you can
Burn all your children images to CD and give them to the grandparents for safekeeping/backup.

Also, nice use of the flash in the first image....
did you bounce it off the ceiling or use a diffuser of some kind?
Cheers

Congratulations! TWINS?! Boy, you'll be tired!
My boys were born very close together (Irish twins)..... it's great now because they're best friends.
I love the photos. I was too busy GIVING birth to take pics of it, although their Dad took some snaps. My favourite is of the first moment of birth - like your competition entry. One of those moments that you never ever forget.
Good luck - please keep the photos of the bubbies coming.
