Here's a shot that I took at the same Chinese demonstration as my first competition entry... The shot was taken back in June, but I didn't want to publish it until now...

While all the assembled media were listening to and recording the main speaker, I sneaked in behind him and poked my lens thru a hole in the banner behind him...

As you will see - if you zoom in, some of the assembled throng gave me some dirty looks, but I think they were just jealous that they didn't think of it...

I love the aspect ration of it and the statesmen right in the centre.

The panorama cropping just helps this so much; great capture.

Great Shot, wonderful position. BTW not sure why an audio guy is giving you an eyeful! Not really going to stuff up the audio by shooting behind a banner!!!

Typical sound recordist at far left concerned about;

Mind you, in all the work I did with TV and Motion Picture I never once saw a sound recordist who did not have a Nikon or a Pentaks underneath his Nagra.

Good shot but could possibly do with some more dynamic element closer to the camera. I was told by an old hand once when I was a kid covering a shopping centre inferno to get to the top of a staircase that was smoky but not aflame. I said they would toss me out and he replied that that was the shot to get as the firemen ran up the stairs - view from the top rather than below.

I earned the scorn of many but I got a great shot that opened the evening bulletin that night.

Good on you for having the balls to get this one.

Maybe he has two wives or something and was worried about it being published???

Some dirty looks indeed mate.
Some of those faces are quite angry.
