How do you use flash to shoot beer and not blow the foam?

It looks like a cup of rosin to me.

With foam on the top.

Then again, I'm not a beer person.

Can you say "light tent" ? :)

Or would you prefer it in a more natural habitat?

I would be trying to light it through the glass a little, probably from a rearward angle.

There should be a rule against posting nice beer pics in the daytime... matter of fact I've got it now! Luckily there's a Schoefferhofer Hefeweizen in the fridge. 8)

MHD,

Guiness is a marvelous subject for photographing things of the beer variety. Definately use the 'special' cans with the ultimate froth which lasts forever. Other possibilities are Murphy's or Kilkenny. Irish beer is very photogenic. Irish people are more photogenic after drinking it.

Just adding some more depth to this most worthwhile thread.

Kind regards
