Here are a couple from the National Zoo here in DC. There are 3 cubs that were pretty playful last weekend.

Shot with the D70 + Sigma 18-125. Not PP apart from a crop on each.

Nice shots Tim... Very graceful animals...
I like the second one best... You can see the quality of the tiger's coat of fur...

Pixspot has three sizes of photo and you've posted your images with links to the medium sized photos... If you want to display them at full size, then the links you needed are:

Tim, Great shots of the big cats. I have changed the link on your second shot to the full size - when you are in pixspot, click on the picture, another window will open with the full size shot and that is the one you get the link from.

i had a play with 2 tigers when in thailand. Well, i sat nervously and pawed with them. they were more interested in playfighting each other, much to my amusement. But jeez just having a bit of "pawing" playing with them (not shown int he photo) you realise how damn powerful those cats are, and HEAVY.

Lovely pictures :D - you can tell they're still young... paws are too big for their bodies.
I would like to see pic 2 cropped to give a close up shot of the tiger's face - I think it would make the face markings and whiskers really stand out.

Cheers
K.

Good pictures there. I like the second one though maybe without the concrete behind it.

Got anymore of the big cat swimming or close ups? Tigers are huge and sometimes we don't see that in photos.

Thanks for the tips everyone...

I wanted to get tighter shots but my 300mm was on loan to my father in law in Germany. Oh well, the tigers aren't going anywhere and the zoo is free!!

I got to play with one in Thailand as well. A much smaller cub though.

They are such fascinating creatures.

Time to start digging through my photos to post more!!
