I too, like this shot. A classic example of where centralisation works and the colours are brilliant :D

What can I do but joiun the chorus of praise also? An experience that probably can't be seen without the camera is always something to celebrate.

I love it, it is sensational, but i can't work our how you did it, perhaps you can let me know the process. obviously the cameral has moved during the exposure, but the tricky bit is the lights are moving in different directions, red goes left, blue goes up etc. good work

This was an exposure using a length of time and zooming out while the exposure was happening ?

That's what Sydney looked like to me after the dinner for the AW meet. We must have been drinking the same stuff?

Oneputt - I like this. Using the camera to paint is both challenging and rewarding. You've excelled.

Christiand is correct. For those who have not tried this technique it involves zooming whilst the shutter is open.

To get any sort of result that you are happy with is a matter of trial and error. ie it is a fluke

I'm not a great lover of the different, but this I like very much.

I've had a go at zooming whilst having the shutter open....very frustrating. Congratulations to you for getting one that is great.

Print it, I would.

Cheers

Great shot OnePutt.

Ive never been very happy with my 'zoom shots', so if you dont mind, would love to hear some of the technique.

What sort of shutter speed did you use??
Did you start at a wide angle and then zoom to a longer focal length, or vice-versa (ie start at high magnification and then zoom out to low magnification).
Were you moving the zoom for the majority of the time the shutter was open?

Thanks for the nice comments guys. It was one of a series I took quite some time ago and I must confess to forgetting much of the details.

Metadata tells me 0.4s at f5.6 and I am fairly sure that I was zooming in, and had finished the zoom before the shutter closed.

But as I said before it was really a fluke.
