Simply stunning!
To me this is as the junction of art and science. I look at it and wonder "What's are those red dots between its eyes?' I have the urge to add balloon text to it describing what all the bits do.
Did you use the camera flash or a proper one? There is very little flaring given the reflective nature of the subject

Are you sure that's a Cicada? Maybe a different species of it.

Could you explain if the eyes are really like that or is it not possible to have them sharp/in focus?

I've had the same kind of results with my dragonfly where the head/eyes would not be as sharp as the rest of the body.

Informer: I looked at some photos on the web that state this critter is a Cicada. Whether or not that's true, I don't know. Dunno what you mean about the eyes being like that. I took about 50 shots and that's the way the eyes look in all of them. Lots of my spider shots look like that as well. Some of these insect eyes are more like jello or pudding than anything, so they apparently have no texture to sharply define the eye.
