Hey, great comparison. I always wondered why they called it a lake. :) Now i know.

I'm sure I can remember from when I was not much older than Little Sheepie is now, we were on holidays in Aus, and drove from Adelaide to Sydney via a few stops along the way. I'm sure there was quite a bit of water in it then - would have been Jan 1983? (just before the big bushfires).

It's been years since I have seen it full but I do recall it coming right up to the old road on occasion. Freezing cold water too! Lake Bathurst is nearby - I'll be having another look there in a week or so.

Aw, sorry Scott! I didn't want to steal your tread :) It just surprised me - same place but looks too different!

Great to see the difference... and yes I have heard stories of water right up to the road to!

I must have driven to Canberra dozens of times over the past 10 years and never seen a drop of water in it! I thought it was in drought down there worse than ever, any water in Goulburns dam yet? Maybe they could borrow some from Lake George (now theres a sad indictment..)

I also went past it on the weekend and had to do a double take. The "lake" looked wet for a change. Very odd. Thanks for the photo
