Few soccer shots's from the weekendUnder 7 soccer we lost this week
I love these images. Having an under 7 myself (we also lost the last game of the season) I really appreciate the work invovled in getting them. It just doesn't seem to matter where I stand around the field I have a coaches butt in my face
Your last image seems to have a slight colour cast to it. Otherwise I love the colours, the sharpness. Deb "Sometimes when you are sad Poko, it's good to hug the monkey."
Excellent shots, mitedo. What lens were you using?

A 200-400 VR or the 300/2.8 VR will do the job very nice Birddog114

I have an under 8 (Siena) and under 12 probably in the same comp Mitedo. I just love the action and determination of these players and find it more entertaining than the older teams. I have been taking shots throughout the season to make up a CD for the parents and kids. I must say though that the VR makes a hell of a difference in clarity. I make do with the kit lens and 70-300G. We should have a chat sometime on techniques, I have met Oneputt and am at Buderim. We might have to start a Coast Chapter.
In the end we know Nothing, but in the meantime Learn like crazy.

Mitedo,
Excellent shots. My son also plays under 7s and they also have bright white jerseys so the shooting conditions are tricky esp. on a sunny day. Love the colours and sharpness. #2 #5 and #6 stand out for me... ozczecho
Just to contrast the use of a basic lens in this type of photography, I have posted a sample with the 70-300 with no processing as far as I can remember, it is just a jpeg out of the camera that I looked back in my files for to compare with the VR. Ideally I should take a tripod along to such events, but you already get some looks when you take out the gear so I like to be as unobtrusive as possible. Perhaps a monopod would do the trick. Anyway, as I said in an earlier post, I find the sheer determination on the kids faces in the teams far more engaging than an adult match and more accessible too. Putting all the images together on a CD for the kids is a good contribution to the team as well. I just looked again and it does have a film curve1 included. This is on pixspot at http://www.pixspot.com/albums/userpics/ ... sample.jpg if you want to look at a larger version. In the end we know Nothing, but in the meantime Learn like crazy.
