Leigh, great catch it is not easy to catch these incidents, ones i have caught is always when you dont expect it and when you do get it in a rush they are out of focus, this is where a fast lens helps and maybe a D2x.LOL
But mate you did well i love them.

You've done really well to capture a series like this that tells such a dramatic and short-lived event... I whince when I look at #4 & 5...

Yep shots taken with the bigma, I love the lense even though it dosent always capture sharp images in continual focus but I get enough to keep me happy.
I was actually following the bike round the corner (one more image at front of series but a few meters before it started to drift out ) and was about to get ready for the next bike when it happened. thats why there is a bit of a gap between 1 and 2.

All I can say is OUCH! Looks like a pretty classic highside, but that he managed to hang on to the bike for quite a while. Great sequence and nice work capturing it. As the others have pointed out, it all goes very quick when it happens.

Did someone say bikes? These are awesome!! I like #2 capture. That Bigma certinly works for you not to mention your skills.

Leigh, can you tell me what setting you typically use for these types of shoots, like do you shot RAW or JPEG etc.?

Its hard to say because i'm trying to get the "perfect" settings myself.
I usually use a shutter speed of around 250/350 sec and around F8/10. But I keep changing the settings so I think these images were around 250th at F14. And I only ever use fine JPEG, although I have benn told many times I should use RAW because you can PS it without loosing much detail, no good for me though because all I know what to do with a photo is crop and resize.

Yeah, I kinda thought you might be shooting JPEG. It's a lot of work to go through converting and processing RAW. And if you take hundreds of shots during the day, you won't want to spend too much time PPing.
