Most days i walk past this church my way to work. Attach to the church is a primary school.

my intent was to see the church at a child's perspective.

a few days later...

i exposed for the sky, burnt the cross to emphasize its presence...

critics/comments welcome....

The first one doesn't work for me - too much OOF area, but the second is great and lightening up the cross really makes this a very moody shot. Well done.

The first one doesn't do it for me either - it's like it's sloping the wrong way. The OOF building tilts one way, but the fenceline seems to lead in and suggests it should go the other way.

Wow, when the first one started loading from the top down I began to think "that's not even in focus!". Maybe a little more D.O.F. in that one. The second one is fantastic - good composition and processing!

how do think i feel, bending over backwards to get that perspective! :D

i like the perspective, but i agree there is something about the composition thats not quite right....unfortunately with the 18-35 the widest apeture for 26mm is 4.5, shallow DOF is hard to achieve.

strange with great weather bad photo, shite weather good photo!

The first one was kinda strange. I was downloading it and like 'its outta focus' then scrolled down and 'oh, thats why'. I really like it, but it feels weird at the same time. Strange enough to go back and have a good close look.

The second one is a nice shot, but the cross is a little too stark for my liking compared to the rest of the church. Sky looks great. I think Id try lightening the church just a little more and maybe try a Warming1a filter in PS over either just the cross or the whole church.

Good shots overall though and Im impressed.
