Kevin, i am now flower lover or macro, but i think these pics look very colourfull and good to me. I did try macro when i had my Fuji but it was more of a try thing. Like i said these pics all look good to me but am sure the others will know more.

Have you tried a polarizer filter for these types of shots?
I used one on a trip to gardens at the hunter valley recently and got some great results I will dig them out and post a few.
I like the 9th shot the best.
What colour profile do you shoot with and what profile are you saving to before you post?

Actually, I like #s 1 and 2 best.

Partially because I can't be bothered to count down to 8 or 9, but #1 reminds me of some of those classic paintings that we see from time to time - it just has a nice feel to it - and #2 because it's a whole different way to present the image, focussing on the leaf, rather than the flower.
