I scored my first magazine cover shot.
Taken a few months back about 5:30am at Redcliffe with the sun just rising over Moreton Island through a storm cloud. I'll post my EXIF if I can find it.

But does he know how to open a bottle of champagne with his sabre?

That, surely, is the question on everyone's lips!

dont know about champagne bottles and sabres but other medieval groups I have seen hide beer bottle openers in their codpieces.

SERIOUSLY!

*cackles*

thanks everyone. Broadsword magazine is available from some of the city newsagencies. This reminds me I have to contact the editor again today to remind him I am keen for more shoots. :)

That's not the same thing.

There is a club - in the Champagne region of France - that opens their bottles of champagne with a sabre.

And our esteemed patron, Birddog, was given a sabre last Christmas with the express challenge that he needs to learn to open a bottle of champers with it.

How is the challenge going, Mr Birdy?

:)

I'll have to bring up the topic next time I visit the medieval societies. Sounds like a wicked fun challenge :D

Gary, just make sure he does it with the most expensive bottle of champagne that money can buy. Atleast that way it will make you work harder to get it right quickly.

Darryl,

Neither Birdy, nor I, drink anything but the besht.

We might have differing opinionsh ash to which is the besht, but that only helpsh make the tashte teshting, and the dishcushionsh on the shubject, more intereshting. (hic!)

Thanks Max :) I was told tonight to expect another cover shoot in the next week or two.

Justin in the shot is actually running a business supplying medieval weaponry and clothing to re-enactors around Australia. That's how he has such an authentic looking outfit. It's usually his "highwayman" outfit, one of his more entertaining gigs with the medieval societies. Makes for a real hoot at the medieval fairs when they take over the bar and get really drunk and silly.

well I got word yesterday that this months covershoot is to be themed Napoleonic.

Cant wait to see what setting we will have to use for that shoot.

Hope I can find somewhere with dark stained wood panelled walls for a background.
