Hello All, here are a couple of shots showing the difference bewteen the flatness of a full moon compared to the contrast of a new moon.
The full moon shot was taken with a Canon 300D and the 80-400 OS Sigma lens, whilst the new moon was with a Canon G2 and a telescope.





This next shot is of Mars and I have used a web cam through my telescope to take a series of images, then stack them on top of each other to bring out the detail..

..... after this my moon shots are finished...... great pix's......

I heard the graviation pull of Adelaiade draws the moon closer as it orbits the earth. (There is a semi-astronomical reason for it...)

The picture of the new moon is fantastic!

Big V, do you apply a grain filter to your photos? Because I've noticed a fair bit of grain in most of yours, like the locusts and the flying bee shot.

pippin88, no that is because I shoot alot at 400 to 800 ISO and I do not use any noise sharpening programs. Most of my shots are as they come straight out of the camera.... The mars pic is from a webcam so it will always appear grainy because of the signal to noise ratio...
