Full Moon v New Moon and MarsHello All, here are a couple of shots showing the difference bewteen the flatness of a full moon compared to the contrast of a new moon.
The full moon shot was taken with a Canon 300D and the 80-400 OS Sigma lens, whilst the new moon was with a Canon G2 and a telescope. This next shot is of Mars and I have used a web cam through my telescope to take a series of images, then stack them on top of each other to bring out the detail.. Canon
..... after this my moon shots are finished...... great pix's......
Cheers ....bp....
Difference between a good street photographer and a great street photographer.... Removing objects that do not belong... happy for the comments, but .....Please DO NOT edit my image..... http://bigpix.smugmug.com Forever changing
..... all I can say is that the moon must be closer to Adelaide than anywhere else......''

I heard the graviation pull of Adelaiade draws the moon closer as it orbits the earth. (There is a semi-astronomical reason for it...)
pippin88, no that is because I shoot alot at 400 to 800 ISO and I do not use any noise sharpening programs. Most of my shots are as they come straight out of the camera.... The mars pic is from a webcam so it will always appear grainy because of the signal to noise ratio...
