Brad, my favs are the two pics of chairlifts at night. From what I gather they're being illuminated by those floodlights. It sort of has a computer generated look to it, for some reason and I love it
I'd possibly on the second one clone out by some means the yellow light source on the left. Or you could just crop it horizontally, at the base of the first most visible post on the left.

moonlight only mate ... the one of the chair actually moving and snow makers firing was from floodlights (or snow machine lights) but the ones where the lifts are dead still with stars n background were totally natural lit.

Awesome. Was wondering if it was just the moonlight. I guess it's different then being down here. The white snow acts as a good natural reflector and will bounce a lot of the moonlight.

Stunning photos, Darb. Can't even pick the favourite, but love the night ones and a lone skier.

Great work as usual Darb.
My fave out of the lot is the chairlift with the stars in the bkg. It's nice to have a clear night sky
w/out light pollution isn't it?
The lone skier pic reminds me of that old windows game - ski free....half expecting the pixel yeti to come out and eat the skier.

i do have one question ... some weird non random noise i was finding in the night shots... probbaly due to not running NR i guess, but i also find NR job has a *different* type of noise / pattern.

I loved all the shots. #2 in particular is great - really shows all this excellent snow with just that one skier. Makes it look like this one person had the snowies all to themselves. Also really liked the mix of crops - it added heaps of interest to the selection

Thanks for bumping this - I missed it first time around. I really like the 2nd shot and the one of the wing tip. the loneliness of the skier and all the rings in the snow make the second one and the different take on the out of the plane window shot grabs me for the other.

Darb,
Maybe you could check out this post and give Chris a few hints since you have just 'been there, done that' and got some great pics.
I'm going to the snow this weekend with the D70
Cheers

Darb,
great shots, like most of them, but for me, the third one is my preferred one. That's the one that grabbed me initially. I like the contrast of the snow and the beautiful blue sky. You even managed to get a jet trail in there
The stars and chair lift are also great.
Well done, and looks like you had at least a few good days.
Cheers,
Radar.

No2 for me, the crisscross pattern of the ski tracks on white is outstanding, Max
