Nice shots. The second one almost looks like molten lead instead of water.

thanks for the reply. I've learnt a few things form the excursion.

1. the sun sets too fast once the exp is at 5sec, doesn't take long for it to go past 20sec. It doesn't leave time to re-compose another scene. its too risky to walk around in total darkness around waters edge.

2. ND filters would help, it would give a longer timeframe to re-compse.

Genji, I love that second shot. If it wasn't for those two sticks, you'd swear it was molten metal. Have you tried PPing the sticks out of it?

And they weren't hand held were they? VR can't be that good. If it is, I'd better break the wallet out and give Birdy a call.

Genji

BEautiful shots

but how did you get the image looking dark at a 20 second exposure, even at f8 during an overcast day your shots should be overexposed

to me the exposure times looks consistent with 4 seconds

it was too dark to remove the stick physically. i think they distract from the image because they appear to be miscellaneous to the image?

Genji, I wouldn't be ashamed to admit it. The shots are great, especially the 2nd. And it's got to be the result that counts.

I got one of my tripods for free when I bought a camera bag. I don't use this tripod as it waves about in the breeze.
