.... are blowing in the wind.

Came across this lonely gum tree right on the edge of ocean... Not sure exactly what it is, but the b&w really works for me in this shot....

Comments and critique more than welcome.

Hi Xerubus,

I find the tree a bit too dark, if you can put a bit of detail back into it, I think it may work better, IMHO

Very different then your PJ work :)

Cheers,

Radar.

the processed shot with detail doesn't really do it for me.... I'm a fan of the ghostly dark shot :)

Very different from the recent stuff I've been doing... but nice to take a little break and find some happiness ;)

I like it, but then Im a bit of a fan of really contrasty B&W.

Possibly might have gotten a little lower so there was some gaps between the pines in the background and the lower branches of the main subject.

Sorry again,

Can you please explain your process.

Thanks,

Mic.

Mark,

What Robboh said. A nice capture, but a slightly lower angle to separate the tree from the background would make quite a difference, I think.

robboh & gstark.... i think you guys might be spot on.... time to revisit the tree and play... ;)

mic.... photoshop.... gorman_b&w process (posted somewhere else in forum about a year ago or so) with a slightly brown tinge through it. adjusted curves to bring out the harsh shadows.

cheers
