Great shot! Excellent level of detail.
Looks a little like a alien corncob covered in little worms :) (Maybe that's a little too imaginitive.

Great shot Chris - harder to get than it might look too.

How did you trigger the flash?

Chris: Great shot.

I've recently got an SB800, so a few tips would be great.
How much natural light was there? Were you just using TTL BL and letting it do its thing?
Do you shoot Manual mostly for this sort of thing?
Are those settings (1/500s F32) fairly standard for your flash lit macro shots?

Very nice Chris. Love macros. Almost enough to make you want to wander around the garden with a magnifying glass.

It's a whole different world. :D

Hi Nick - I do normally shoot manual for macro, including focus. The beauty of digital is that you can determine very quickly if the shot is working or not. When working at 1:1 f/32 and 1/500th sec works fairly well. Shot in diffused daylight using the SC29 cord with flash off to one side at approx 8" distance. Diffuser was left on the flash and I used iTTLBL - it works!
