Having spent some time trying to catch a photo of bees in flight last weekend - I know how hard it would have been to get that shot...
That said - I would probably find it more engaging if I was looking at the front half of the bee

Going by your signature I would guess that this is the product of your 100mm macro. It is a lens I have been considering and so the picture is not only rewarding for its delicacy and skilled timing but is also quite enlightening.

I like the detail and depth of field you have achieved in this one. Bit of a shame we can't see the bee's head. Also a great exposure given the colour of the flower. did you use flash?

Yes I think I did use the flash, albeit in high-speed sync mode (ie, not 1/250th).

As Craig said, you've really handled the exposure well in this shot Dion. The detail could have been easily blown but you've kept it in check. Nice work.
