Hi All, well thought i would share a few pics from today's track day which turned out to be a good day. Couple of small accidents but nothing serious and. These pics have had no PP done from camera from RAW to jpg and resized for web.
I tend not to spend time on them unless i have orders.

Nice pics, John. I suspect that isn't easy photography and you've got that down pretty good. :D

Thanks All, Mark i only use 2, i use the 70-200 Sigma f2.8 most of the day and the Nikon 80-400 vr in some parts, but most times 70-200 as we had a funny sort of a day was nice but overcast most of the day and the sun came out towards the end of the day but both are good to use just depends on where i want to get pics. As some places i cant get to close to so i use 80-400.

Great stuff as usual John! :D Can you tell me what settings you used for the overcast day shots? I just want to get an idea. Also, that front on shot #3, did you use the 80-400mm?
Cheers, Jase. :D

Hi Guys sorry been out shooting a Vintage car club show, and Jase yes i used the 80-400 there as i am nearly in the run zone so the bigger lens gets me closer. I always live by watching histogram and forever adjusting ev jase to suit the conditions and fix up as i shoot RAW mode sometimes +3 or even +07 or -3 so yeh as if i was to change to AP mode to let more light and say f2.8 i could possibly freeze the shot which is not what i want, unless they are coming head on.

Thanks for the tips, John. I never would have thought about freezing the head-on shoots, but it makes sense. It's amazing how quickly you have to shoot, even head-on.

Jase when they are head on you cant notice the wheels moving so therefore you can safley up the shutter. I was reading a thread the other day when Chi=onyx mentioned that program mode was pretty spot on as there was talk of pro's use this a lot so i tried it and yes i tend agree it does work very well in most cases. If you tend to use this on bikes well it will near freeze the wheels but was interesting to try this as i never use any of the mode on the camera other than shutter or aperture.

Yeah John, I used to use P-mode when I started learning the camera. But,, like you I've been focusing more on A-S mode these days. May try this next time for the head-on shots to see what happens.
Do you know of any links for sports photographers tips? :D
