Paw

Don't get too many of these up my way. This one was tucked away in a small Botanical Garden at Mount Tamborine that I didn't even know existed 'till I stumbled across it. Seems fairly new but should be a great spot in a few years.

Tamron 70-300 on Macro with no tubes.
ISO 200 1/800s @ f/7.1
No crop

Gorgeous colours Mark! Perhaps closing down the aperture a little (f/11 - 16?) to increase the DOF would have helped by putting the whole subject in focus. Can't speak with any authority as I haven't got a macro lens but just my personal view. :D

Thanks Simon. Yes, I love the colours in this one too. I couldn't stop it down much more as I was on a quick bushwalk (with no tripod  ) so high shutter speed to minimise movement was what I needed. A bit more DOF would have helped and I almost didn't post this shot because of it but the colours were too nice. :D

Aha...remember adjustable ISO can be your friend. :)
I notice you shot this one at 200 so you may have been able to push that up a bit without getting too noisy.
