I was recently visiting family and holidaying in Mauritius and I was able to fit in some photography. The first photo I am showing is not actually on the island of Mauritius but on on an island called "Ìlot Gabriel" which is just a short catamaran trip north. In the picture, I am facing south looking at another island "Coin de Mire", behind that is Mauritius.
Enjoy

Real holiday brochure territory. The colours of the water and sky and extremely appealing. A very nice image to preserve your memory of the place and with a nice balance.

Personally I don't like the colour of the water (I don't want to jump right in) other then that a great shot. And a very intersting tree branch.

ok so where can we book...
Thats one for the wall, and like dargan pointed at, one for the Tourist Association. I'm still new at all of this but this shot really grabs me. Nice blue the sky down to the water polished branches. A nice way to hang onto the memories.
cheers

A shot to be proud of!
It does feel a little cramped (e.g. with bits of tree sneaking in and out of the lower right) so I'm wondering how it would look with a slightly wider view, but that's not a major complaint!
Alpha, what's wrong with the water colour? To me it looks like nice clean sand under clear water!

I agree, a cracking shot. Especially love the way the brnches snake across the scene.
This is definately one for the wall!

I do have a landscape version I might put up to allow a comparison. Thanks for the comments.

A lovely image and the water looks great on my monitor.
