Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

G'day,
Had the morning off, no plans so off to play... Got up too late for early morning landscape stuff (damn! Was planning on getting up to Hanging Rock early but ahhh well..., maybe next week-end) and can't help myself with animals... 
Comment or critique I'm easy 
"Bad hair day" EXIF: ISO400, 1/80th sec, F7.1, 400mm, 80-400. Needed a smaller aperture for more DOF for this one I think...
"Pussy kat" EXIF: ISO400, 1/60th sec, F8, 400mm, 80-400
Beautiful snow leopard EXIF: ISO400, 1/30th sec, F5.3, 175mm, 80-400

More cracking stuff Mudder. I agree the lack of DOF on the first makes it look OOF.
I won't be putting up my Panda shots rom China because I cringe after seeing the work of yourself, Nicole, Arthur, Kipper and others. So sharp and well composed. Tripod or monopod?
I need to get along to the zoo with you guys one day for some practice. Is a 200mm long enough for some shots like these?

Wow Mudder, that tiger shot: 1/60 @ 400mm  That is a fine advertisement for both the 80-400 and you skills..  If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??

Usually monopod, sometimes hand-held... These were monopod. I gotta remember to sharpen after re-size though, these had no USM at all, just a slight highpass (about 8 pixels) then just re-sized and posted... The Snow Leopard's 175mm but he was sitting quite close... Thought I'd struggle as you can see a slight affect from the wires between us... You should get up to the Australia Zoo (the one run by Steve Irwen, the crikey dude), for a few bucks you can go in the enclosure with the tigers... Wow, what an experience with such majestic creatures... Or go croc tagging which would be a ball!

Nahh, she's seen it, but it's only the fact that she is not that sort of person that allows me to get away with it If you know what I mean  If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
