Working at Sydney Fishmarket

I took this photo yesterday while visiting Sydneys fishmarket. Please can you comment on my B&W conversion. I followed Matt K. technique for converting colour to B&W and want an honest opinion whether this shot speaks to you or the B&W tonal range, contrast etc is way off...

Its quite grainy - but i like it. Nice saturation in the darker areas of the shot.

I like the image... Composition and contrast is good, but as WW said it appears to be quite noisy...
Was this introduced, did you use high ISO, or was the original underexposed???

Leek & WW the orig image was underexposed.
Played with Shadow/Highlight in Photoshop before converting to B&W using Matt K. method.

OK... the foreground seems to be pretty good, but the noise in the bokeh is a little distracting...
Some noise reduction might help to smooth it a bit...

I think this is quite a good image - noise / grain and all.
I don't think the grain in the background detracts at all, it suits the mood - maybe even helps create it.
