On the way back thought i should try out a low light shot while walking shutter set to 60, blurry but nice and sweet


looking back at the last image set the shutter to 125/100, f1.4, ISO300, whitebalance 5200K, aahh much more clear, but i couldn't say the same for my head.


2 secs feature glass table with light, just shake the camera around


Taken with flash, set the shutter to 400/100 the SB800 to 1/28, on the d2x you can overide the max shutter flash sync from 250 to a much higher setting, higher shutter speeds produce darker images the flash balances it out and your left with a nice high contrast shot.

Thanks for posting the pics and exif data up on this series. I learn a bit from it. I like the long shutter shots. Why in #1 is there a red and a blue squiggle in the middle of the frame? What is that?

I am glad our learning something

the red and blue squiggle is a light trail that originated from the red and blue LED on the mixer device

a 3 second exposure captures all light and movement representaed as blurs or light streaks if the camera moves, in this case i just pressed the shutter and quickly jerked around the camera. The movement can be traced back by the loook of the squiggle.
for long exposures set the fstop high and keep the ISO at it's lowest so the image won't become overexposed

Im back much to everyones horror! Had to get my creative feel back. This is great stuff i like the retro feel. Congrats on a gutsy feel to your images.
