Hot Sky

I know that sunrises and sunsets are the photographic cheap thrill, but when you see one that is spectacular, and you have a camera, chances are you will end up taking a few shots of them.

This sunrise was on fire. The only PP done here was the crop and frame - no manipulation of the image. What a sky!!

Feel free to comment if you wish, but for me, this is all about the sky. Anybody could have taken it that morning with the same result.

Greg,

I am preparing small sky shot series by myself. I dont know it this cheap thrill or not, but sometime you can see amazing paintings up there, like your one.

Nice shot & crop Greg. I often see skies like this when I'm driving to & from work during the week & I always wish I had my camera with me.

I guess that's telling me something, isn't it

Thanks for sharing !

Well spotted and captured... not everyone can capture a sky well.. Poorly metered sunrises/sets will blow out the lovely detail and texture you have captured here... Mainly when people blindly use matrix/evaluative metering

Great shot. I've never seen a sunrise like that. I'd clone or crop the pipe though.

I occasionally see a sunrise on my way to the mini meets, but I've never managed to take a pic (can't stop on the freeway!) so I'm jealous (and DON'T suggest getting out of bed to take a shot  )

I like the pipe... looks like a minarett, make it look like some Arabic city, very exotic!

Thanks guys. This is a view from the backyard, I am always up at sunrise, and opportunities arise!

I actually like the pipe and antenna as a nod to the suburban landscape, and they - with the OOF trees - kinda frame the sky to some extent.
