I know it's a bit 'noisy', but was shot an hour ago in my front yard Neighbours still think I'm nuts, but that's par for the course.
These are two stem sucking bugs called "Acanophora compressa" - introduced into Australia by CSIRO for the control of lantana. Unfortunately, they have moved onto ornamentals as well - these are on my fiddlewood tree. At the moment, the tree is just starting to become infested - the adults all line up on a stem and suck away. It always amuses me that they line up in a mirror pattern.
