G'day,
After seeing some of the amazing macro stuff posted by the members I just had to have a play :D ... Only using a close-up filter (Canon 500d) on the 80-400 not a dedicated macro (micro?) lens, but it opens up a whole new world! This is fun :)

I now know just how hard it is to get any depth of the subject in focus  I have a new found respect for those that have posted such amazing macro shots... I think I'm back to the "L" plates

First go at the Melbourne botanical gardens this moaning, any tips or advice eagerly sought as I'm struggling so far I think...

EXIF: F13, ISO200, 100mm, 1 second exp,

And a long-dead spidey :)

Hi Andy,
Venturing into the micro cosmos, aye? Yes, it's certainly a different world up close and judging by your shots, you won't have any trouble expressing it.
2, 3 (lovely use of background and colour) and 4 really appeal to me with 5 just plain freaking me out!
I'm sure these won't be the last either and hope to see some more great shots from you as usual.
Cheers, Jase. :D

Mudder - whatever you set out to do you have accomplished an amazing set of pics especially considering the shutter speeds. BTW - I am always ”moaning” in the morning  :D

I used a tripod for these, I'd have no hope in hell with my shaky hands  VR was turned off while on the tripod... Just the slightest movement and the focus is totally lost, this macro stuff is fun but geeesss I have a lot of respect for those that do it well...

 Can't help it, it's a bad habit... The project I look after at work is called LOLO, so I end up on the phone saying "ello ello, good moaning"... Drives my colleagues crazy, all the more reason

Cheers mate...
