First shot is great, nicely lit and a wonderful expression. Second shot is a little lacking in punch (too much white maybe)

I have to agree with Peter here, first shot appeals the second one I think gets lost with all that white. (I could be a little biased as I've just had eye issues all weekend, and white is currently painful to view (over dilated pupils )).
