My long time best friend had her baby recently and this is the shot I got this morning of her. Critique as always very welcome. If I was going to self critique I'd say just a bit too much light on the baby's right side of her head.

Love the eyes, I think they are the most captivating part of this shot.

I tend to agree the a little to much light on the left hand side of shot, possibly a little more DOF atleast to bring the bub's ear into a little more focus. Overall A nice shot, and imparts a sense of quiet reflection (this maybe not have been the case IRL) :)

a really nice photo that is enhanced by the B&W PP. The added light on her right side seems OK to me, and I feel it adds to the shot....however I'd personally remove some of the negative space above her head (but that's just me).
Perhaps also a bit more DOF might have helped capture the ear in focus also.

She looks to be pondering what mischief she will get up to next

Well done.

Geoff,

Another clear reason why you live up to your companies name - special moments photography!

Well captured!
If your anything like me, when you have your own child, you will have millions of photos!

Now all you need to do is find some baby photo competitions :)

keep up the great work,

JD

I really like this shot Geoff - the expression is great, and the B&W treatment really works.
I'm with Dave on cropping out some of the space in the top of the image, but apart from that a cracking shot.
