Moggy, im working on getting myself a bigger lense.. a lil bit newer too.. im using a lense i borrowed from Dug which is a 20+yr old Nikon Micro 55mm Manual focus lens.. and its deteremined to focus on one spot so i cant get more of the area focused sharply.. Kerry, ill see what i can do about getting the pic to load for you, my site host is having troubles with some isps being able to load sites and images host on them for people with certain isps.. (hope that isnt too confusing) Cyanide.. the main reason there is so much black is, i tested setting up a very simple lil black background for photographing flowers n such to make them stand out.. a orchid flower was something i grabbed to see how it would look Tim D70 - D200/MBD200 Coming soon - Too Much Gear, Not Enough Talent

Tim, nice effort, I don't like the crop, to me the orchid is such a magnificent creature that you need to see it all, if possible. Sunflowers, daisies et al can be cropped/chopped/diced/spliced, they're everywhere and done by everyone but orchids are very difficult to photograph. My F-I-Law has prize winning orchids but I find them very hard to photograph because of their depth and construction.
Anyway, that's my 2 bob worth, keep on posting mate. Max President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)
