I took this pic on Saturday, and this is my 1st real attempt at this style:

Criticism / Tips are requested. :) The only thought that I had was to stop down the apperture a bit for a bit more DOF. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Tristan

Hi Tristan.
I'll preface this by saying that I am definitely not a macro guru! but to me, increasing the DOF would help. I think that this would enable a sharper focus to be achieved. (I find it difficult to focus on the flower and the bee together.)
The bee was probably not that obliging, but did you consider changing your position so that a bit more of the bee could be caught? Its back end gets lost behind the flower yet my eyes want to see more of it and less of the flower.
......my thoughts.

Good try here, bees are extremely hard to shoot, I can't get 'em to sit still for a second!

G'day Tristan,
Gee, this looks good considering you're using using a "kit lens", no macro gear... Yep, maybe stop the aperture down a bit more for more DOF, you could always up the ISO to keep the shutter speed high... Maybe I'd be tempted to clone out the busy background at the top to help focus the attention on your subject too...

You've done a lot better than I could with a moving target
